Setup for agencies

This page is for travel agencies that want to offer the AI assistant connection to their corporate customers.

Enabling the connection

The connection is switched on per agency. It is off by default, and while it is off the connection address does not respond.

To enable it, contact CityCity support and ask for the MCP Server setting to be switched on for your agency. It can be switched off again the same way, which stops all assistant connections for your agency immediately.

The connection address

Each of your travellers connects with the address

https://{agency-domain}/api/v2/mcp

where {agency-domain} is the address they use to sign in to CityCity. If your agency has more than one address (for example a custom domain and an alias), travellers should use the one they normally sign in on. Give your customers the full address together with the guide Connecting Claude or ChatGPT.

Settings that affect what an assistant can do

The assistant follows the same configuration as the regular booking site:

Setting Effect
Travel policy (per company) Options outside the policy are not offered or booked.
Approval (per company, and per user exceptions) Bookings that need approval are not placed through the assistant.
Cost fields (per company) Required cost fields must be filled in before a booking is placed.
Payment methods (per company) Only items payable by the company's agreement or a saved guarantee can be booked.
Online booking disabled (agency or company) The assistant cannot book.
Add items to booking (agency) Needed for adding an airport taxi to an existing flight booking.
Single sign-on (company) Travellers who can only sign in through SSO cannot connect an assistant yet.

Travellers also need their profile to be in order: a mobile number is needed for airport taxis, and a customer id if taxis are invoiced.

Before you roll it out

  1. Ask CityCity to enable the setting and try the connection yourself with a test traveller.
  2. Check a search and a booking for each product you use, and that your company's cost fields are asked for.
  3. Look at your customers' data protection and AI usage policies, and tell them what is shared with the assistant provider (see Security and privacy).
  4. Send the connection guide to the customers that want to use it.

Support

If a traveller cannot connect or an assistant reports that something cannot be booked, check the points in What the assistant can do first. For anything else, contact CityCity support and include the traveller's email address and the approximate time.
