What the assistant can do
This page describes what a connected assistant can do for a traveller and where the limits are.
Trips and travel history
- List upcoming and past trips, and look at the details of one trip (flights, trains, hotels, cars and taxis, with passengers).
- Summarise the traveller's recent travel: most used routes, hotels, train lines, car companies and taxi addresses, and the fares and seats they usually choose. The assistant uses this to suggest defaults and to repeat an earlier trip.
- Show the traveller's travel policy per product and, if the company uses a CO2 budget, how much of it has been used this year.
Searching and booking
Every booking follows the same steps: the assistant searches, shows the options, shows a summary with the total price for the chosen option, and books only after the traveller confirms.
| Product | What is supported |
|---|---|
| Flights | One-way flights for one traveller. The assistant can show the fares (ticket types such as Standard and Flex) and what each includes, add extra checked bags, and pick seats. |
| Trains | One-way Swedish train journeys for one traveller, with the fares of each journey and an optional window or aisle seat preference. |
| Hotels | One room for one guest. Only rooms that can be paid by the company's agreement, or with a guarantee the company has already saved, are offered. |
| Rental cars | Cars at rates the company can pay for, without extras. |
| Airport taxis | A taxi to or from the airport, added to an existing flight booking. |
Search results and the prices shown are the same as on the regular booking site, including the agency's markup.
Combining products
The assistant looks at the whole trip and points out what is missing: for example no hotel for the nights away, no way to reach or leave a hotel, or no airport taxi. It offers these as suggestions and books nothing the traveller has not agreed to.
Cost fields
If the company has cost fields (cost centre, project and so on), the assistant looks them up, uses the value from the traveller's profile where there is one, and asks for any required value it cannot fill in. A booking is not placed while required cost fields are missing or invalid.
What is not available through an assistant
These must be done on the regular booking site:
- Bookings that need approval, or that fall outside the travel policy.
- Bookings when online booking is disabled for the agency or company.
- Fares that an airline sells only through NDC: the assistant is offered the same fares as a standard search, so some airline fares may only appear on the regular site.
- Anything that must be paid with a credit card typed in at booking time (for example hotel rooms and rental cars that need a card guarantee).
- Round trips and multi-city trips (the assistant can book each direction separately), international train journeys, train berths and choosing an exact train seat.
- More than one traveller or guest, and extras other than checked bags and seats.
- Changing or cancelling bookings.
- Signing in with single sign-on (SSO).
